Records & Info:

According to Edward Denton Brewer in his family history,  House of  Brewer , Daniel Foust was a pioneer from Baltimore County, MD  and  York County, PA.  Daniel was a carpenter and cooper who preached in his spare time.  In 1837 he took his family westward to Ohio by way of the Nemacolin's Trail, Braddock's Road, and through Wheeling in a two horse wagon with a milk cow tied behind. The wet roads and heavy load forced some of his children to walk most of the way.  They came to Woodbury , OH and lived in a log house south of the Lutheran Church.  He went into business hauling goods from Lake Erie to the Ohio River.  He was killed at Circleville, OH during one of these trips.  He was supposedly buried in the Lutheran Churchyard where his wife, Louisa Rorbaugh, was later buried.
