Charles F. Ingels, 90, of Edinburgh, Ind., passed away Monday evening, July 9, 2007.
He was a former employee of the Ohio River Salt Works and work for years as a mason. He was a 60 year member of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers, achieving lifetime membership in 1998.
He was born May 08, 1917, in Mason, a son of the late Charles L Ingels and Bertha (Stewart) Ingels.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John William Ingels.
He is survived by a wife, Edith Mae Belcher, whom he married on July 4, 1943, in Pomeroy, Ohio; a son, Brian L. (Susan) Ingels of Edinburgh; brother, James (Happy) Ingels of Middleport, Ohio; sisters, Sarah Mae Burris and Jean Cartwright of Sebring, Fla., Millie Pealer of Mt. Vernon , Ohio, Ida Lucille (Corky) Raynes of Mason; and grandchildren, Chris Ingels and Kelly Ingels of Edinburgh.
Graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Gravel Hill Cemetery, Cheshire, Ohio. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Foglesong-Tucker Funeral Home, Mason.
Edith M. (Belcher) Ingels, 86, passed away Wednesday morning, March 19, 2008. She was a resident of Edinburgh, Ind.
A 1940 graduate of Wahama High School, she was a homemaker for most of her married life but also worked as a line worker for Sylvania Electric during the war effort, as a kindergarten teacher's aid in Bloomington, Ind., and as a seamstress for an interior design firm in Ellasttsville, Ind. She also served two terms on the board of directors of the Edinburgh Senior Citizen's Center. She was a longtime member of the Mason Evangelical United Brethren Church and later a member of the Edinburgh United Methodist Church.
She was born Feb. 16, 1922 in Walnut Hill, Pa., to C. Columbus and Elizabeth A. (Diehl) Belcher.
She married Charles F. Ingels July 4, 1943 in Pomeroy, Ohio. He preceded her in death July 9, 2007.
In addition to her husband, Charles, she was preceded in death by her parents; a stepfather, Samuel L. Jeffers of Mason; and sisters, Dorothy S. Cartwright of Mason and Mildred V. Castle of Pomeroy.
She is survived by a son, Brian L. (Susan) Ingels of Edinburgh; sisters, Grace E. Kisamore of Newark, Ohio, and Evelyn L. Russell of Mason; and grandchildren, Chris Ingels of Aurora, Ind., and Kelly Ingels of Edinburgh.
Graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 25 in Gravel Hill Cemeteryin Cheshire, Ohio. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday at Foglesong-Tucker Funeral Home in Mason.
