EMPORIA -- Mary J. Garrison, 73, Emporia, died Thursday, July 5, 2001, at an Emporia hospital.
She was born Oct. 26, 1927, in Atchison, the daughter of Fred and Bessie Iler Ingels. She moved to Emporia from Atchison in 1985.
She married Elmer Garrison on July 8, 1953, in Atchison. He died in 1970. Mrs. Garrison also was preceded in death by a son, Irvin Hearlson, and a stepson, Robert Garrison.
Survivors include five sons, Wayne Hearlson, Wellington, Don Garrison, Horton, George Garrison, Atchison, Clifford Garrison, Hiawatha, and John Garrison, Emporia; five daughters, Barbara Smith, Cedar Vale, Mary Talkington, Emporia, Carol Garrison-Sparks and Susie Garrison Larson, both of Hiawatha, and Betty Garrison, Atchison; 23 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Oak Hill Cemetery in Atchison. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home in Emporia.
