MRS. ELIZA INGELS DIES
Mrs. Eliza Ingels, 75, died suddenly at 8:45 last evening at her home 1610 Atchison Street, from chronic heart ailment.
Yesterday Mrs. Ingels felt well and was able to be outside.
The funeral will be held at 2:30 tomarrow (sunday) from the Stanton and Stanton funeral home with the Rev. Roy Fields
officiating. Burial will be in the family lot at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Born, November 8, 1861, Mrs Ingels celebrated her 75th birthday last Sunday. At the time of her birth her parents, t
he late Mr and Mrs John Nelson Snyder, early-day settlers, were living on a farm in the Dry Creek neighborhood
now owned by the Hayes brothers. Mrs Ingels spent her entire life in and around Atchison.
In 1881 she was married to Millard F Ingels of Atchison. Mr Ingels died in 1924
For many years Mrs Ingels did practical nursing here. Born the year that Kansas was admitted to the Union as a State
Mrs Ingels was a true Pioneer. Welded into her charater was the pioneer spirit of helpfulness to ones neighbors.
Her greatest pleasure was in serving others. Unselfish in all her actions, she always considered the welfare of her family
and neighbors before her own. She was a kind and loving mother.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs John Griffis and Mrs Cora Snyder of Atchison; two sons Fred and Lon Ingels of
Atchison; one sister, Mrs Lucy Ingels, San Jose, California, 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Out of town relatives attending the funeral yesterday afternoon of Mrs Eliza Ingels, included: Mrs Ida Snyder,
Mr and Mrs Rose Page and daughter, all of Lincoln, Neb., Mr and Mrs Grant Culver and Son, Falls City, Neb.,
Mrs P W McCroskie, Kansas City, Kan., Mrs Bertha Sowers, Mr and Mrs Clarence Warlen and Albert Ingels,
all of Kansas City, Missouri, Wesley Ingels, Bakersfield, Calif., and Mr and Mrs Marvin Lewman, Auburn, Neb.,
